WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN WINDOWS
LOOK FOR THE NFRC LABEL
The Nationsl Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is a non-profit industry organization that is committed to providing accurate, fair and reliable testing data to help consumers, architechts and builders compare the energy performance of window and door products.
To directly compare windows and patio doors, check the values listed on the (NFRC) label for U-Factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and Visible Transmittance performance.
The lower the U-Factor, the less money you'll spend heating your home. The lower the SHGC, the more you'll save on air-conditioning costs.
